Synopsis[]

Sense, Sensibility, And... Spycraft!

Being a spy has never been a safe profession, and that's doubly true in times of revolution. Following the recent assassination attempt on the Queen, the aristocratically controlled Kingdom of Albion has increased their anti-espionage measures to a height never before seen, which leaves agents working on behalf of the rebelling Commonwealth faced with a greater challenge than ever. That doesn't stop Control from assigning two risky missions to their elite spy ring, however. Now Ange and team find themselves tasked with the dual dangerous objectives of retrieving a dealer of second-hand books from a Kingdom prison while also making contact with the Commonwealth's double agent within the royal family. Either operation would be treacherous alone, but only a team that doesn't believe in impossible missions can possibly survive the perils of PRINCESS PRINCIPAL: CROWN HANDLER - PART 1! [1]

Easter Eggs[]

Cameos[]

  • When entering the Royal Villa, Ange notices an airship with Richard's insignia. This foreshadows his arrival.
  • Around the 27:30 mark, during the chess match between Winston and Ange (disguised as Charlotte), the man who later kills Winston can be seen among the audience. Winston notices him, and then Ange tries to see what he is looking at, but Winston quickly draws her attention back.
  • The Duke of Arkham (Richard) is mentioned in one of the written drafts of the Queen's speeches shown on-screen. His first official appearance happens in the next movie, Crown Handler Chapter 2.

Chess Match[]

The chess match played between Winston and Ange (disguised as Charlotte) at New Windsor Palace is directly based on the famous 1851 casual game between Adolf Anderssen and Lionel Kieseritzky at the London 1851 chess tournament. The match would later be named the Immortal Game.
