Overview[]
In Game of Mission you play as an unnamed (custom name can be entered) Protagonist who operates on behalf of Control, a spy organisation under the direct control of the Commonwealth of Albion. As part of Control you take on various missions alongside their fellow spies. The main objective of the game is to complete the missions (quests) that are presented one after another. By completing a mission, you will receive items and experience points that can be used to strengthen the main protagonist and their fellow spies, so you can gradually improve them over time and take on new harder missions.
App description[]
"A spy action puzzle game where you trace blocks to challenge "missions"!
Team up with your spy friends and take on the "Mission"!
Trace the blocks of the same colour to attack the enemies that stand in your way!"
Pre-registration[]
Pre-registration began one month before the launch of the game and was available until the 8th of August 2017.
Gameplay[]
The objective of all missions (quests) in Game of Mission is to destroy all enemies that appear in multiple waves during battle. Enemies are placed on blocks with four types of attributes : spades (blue), hearts (red), clubs (green), and diamonds (yellow). The protagonist will fight these enemies while moving around the blocks. The protagonist controlled by the player is allowed to move and attack at the same time.
The battles are turn-based, and the protagonist as controlled by the player can move by tracing blocks of the same attribute in one stroke, this includes diagonal blocks. If the protagonist steps on a block adjacent to an enemy, an attack will be performed automatically. Once the protagonist passes through a block, they cannot pass through it again in the same turn, but the protagonist is able to attack multiple times in the same turn by tracing so that are adjacent to the same or multiple enemies at different times. The blocks you pass through will disappear when your action ends.
Attributes have compatibility with each other, such as spade > club > heart > diamond > spade, and damage is greater against opponents with good compatibility, but less against opponents with bad compatibility.
If a fellow ally with the same attribute as the block the protagonist has stepped on during an attack, that character will also attack. If there are multiple teammates with the same attribute, each character attack will be preformed one after each other.
Special abilities[]
The protagonist and his allies have two special abilities, a "charge skill" and an "active skill". The protagonist's abilities change depending on the equipment and the "characteristics" set.
Charge skill[]
A "charge skill" is a skill that activates when a certain number of blocks are stepped on in one move. If performed your allies will use a skill that corresponds to the attributes of the blocks. This is not selectable, but will be activated automatically if certain conditions are met. It will always be activated at the end of the move, regardless of the distance traveled. Each character has a different range, power of effect and damage dealt.
The charge skills and attack range change depending on the "characteristics" set.
Active skills[]
An "active skills" is a skill that can be activated by consuming blocks the protagonist passes through. A gauge rises each time the protagonist pass through a block of the corresponding attribute This is a skill that can be activated at will, and can be used by flicking the character's icon at the start of a turn. It can only be activated before moving.
Active skills often have special effects, such as setting up gun turrets that attack enemies every turn or poisoning opponents within a certain range. If active skills are used consecutively, a "skill combo" will occur, and the skills used after will be subject to damage compensation.
The active skills change depending on the equipment set.
Special moves[]
In addition to the skills provided under special abilities, there are also two special moves. These are "cooperative attacks" and the item "C-ball."
Cooperative attacks[]
Cooperative attacks is a special system that is activated when the protagonist steps on 15 blocks in a row in one move, and will deal huge damage to all enemies regardless of position or active skills. When a cooperative attack is successful, a cut-in of everyone will appear and the stage will be engulfed in a huge explosion.
C Ball[]
The C Ball is an item that appears randomly on the map and when obtained by the player, it allows the protagonist to connect blocks ignoring attributes for 10 seconds.
Characters[]
Besides the five main characters and Zelda, Game of Mission featured 25 collectable original characters and 3 non-collectable original characters that did not appear in the anime. All in-game character illustrations were done by the MAKARIA Animation Company.
