Eleanor is a character in Princess Principal. She appears in Episode 10: Case 22 Comfort Comrade.

Development

Director Masaki Tachibana drew the concept art for Prefect. For currently unknown reasons, Prefect's reference sheets are not included in the Spy and Seek behind-the-scenes artbook.

Dorothy is Eleanor's friend and former classmate. She calls her by the nickname, "Prefect." Sometime after the London Revolution, they both attended The Farm, a spy-training facility of Control, and attended class together with Ange. It was often thought by people that Eleanor had a rivalry with Ange, since Ange was at the top of their class and Eleanor was always second.

As part of their training at The Farm, Ange Dorothy and Eleanor had to take an exam. They had to tail someone together on Christmas eve. However, Eleanor lost sight of their target. Eleanor started to cry, believing they would get expelled for failing the exam. But then, Dorothy suggested they go enjoy the evening at a funfair instead. Eleanor called Dorothy crazy, since they were in the middle of an exam, but went along with her anyway.

In the end, while Eleanor and Dorothy were at the funfair, Ange was able to relocate their target and the three girls ended up passing the exam.

An unspecified amount of time later, Eleanor would part ways with Ange and Dorothy. They met again after some time, in Season 1 Episode 10: Case 22 Comfort Comrade, for a mission assigned to them by Control to retrieve several documents. The mission went smoothly, and afterwards the girls went to a pub. Dorothy stayed behind with Eleanor for longer, and together they talked about their adventure on Christmas eve back at the Farm. Eleanor commented on the fact that Ange was able to relocate their target and called her, "a natural." Dorothy said it made her happy to hear this from Eleanor, but added that she wasn't sure why.

When Eleanor and Dorothy excited the pub, Eleanor asked her if she'd ever had someone she'd really looked up to. Dorothy replied that she didn't think so. Eleanor then shared that she did have someone like that, and that she wanted to be like that person very badly, but just "couldn't pull it off."

It was then revealed that the mission assigned to Ange and Dorothy was in fact to verify Eleanor's loyalty to Control. Much to particularly Dorothy's dismay, it turned out that Eleanor had indeed become a double spy. She wondered to herself why Eleanor would do this. Ange and Dorothy tried to stop Eleanor from escaping so they could apprehend her. Uncharacteristically, Ange directly confronted Eleanor and held her at gunpoint, but Eleanor ended up escaping.

Ange is Eleanor's former classmate. An unspecified amount of years after the London Revolution, the two girls attended the same year at The Farm, alongside Dorothy. Ange was always at the top of the class, whereas Eleanor was always in second place. This led people to believe that the two girls had an ongoing rivalry, when this was not actually the case. (Eleanor was in fact jealous of Dorothy, not Ange.)

When they were still attending the Farm, Ange, Dorothy and Eleanor were given a spy exam to tail someone on Christmas eve. However, they lost their target, but in the end Ange relocated their target, and all three girls ended up passing the exam. When Eleanor later reflected on this event, she called Ange, "a natural."

An unspecified amount of time later, Prefect would part ways with Ange and Dorothy. They met again after some time, in Season 1 Episode 10: Case 22 Comfort Comrade, for a mission assigned to them by Control to retrieve several documents. Beatrice noted at the time that Ange and Eleanor were able to work together with minimal communication and in perfect sync. The girls went for drinks at a pub afterwards.

It was later revealed that the mission assigned to Ange and Dorothy was in fact to verify Eleanor's loyalty to Control. Much to particularly Dorothy's dismay, it turned out that Eleanor had indeed become a double spy. Ange and Dorothy tried to stop Eleanor from escaping so they could apprehend her. Uncharacteristically, Ange directly confronted Eleanor and held her at gunpoint. Eleanor commented, "You've changed. The old you would have ended it with a shot in the back of my head. I don't suppose a certain someone has planted feelings in the Black Lizard's heart?" She then took Ange by surprise and made her escape on a train.

Ange and Dorothy were able to catch up to Eleanor. But after feeling like she had no other options left, Eleanor ended up committing suicide in front of both of them.

On their way back, Dorothy thanked Ange for jumping the gun early. She realised that Ange was trying to make sure they did not have to shoot Eleanor. Ange and Dorothy are now left as the only remaining spies from their class.
