History[]
Pre-Season 1[]
Jubei Todo was a samurai hailing from the Saga Domain, a Samurai clan presumably from Saga Prefecture. According to a European military report, he had single-handedly cut down 100 men. During the Boshin War, he boarded an ironclad ship and sank it unaided.
Jubei eventually had a daughter named Chise Todo, who he trained.

Chise's Older Unnamed Sister[]
In season 1 Episode 8: Case 11 Pell-mell Duel, Jubei's daughter Chise wrote a letter to her older unnamed sister. It is currently unknown whether this sister is also Jubei's daughter or not, as it is also possible that she and Chise are half-sisters.
Trivia[]
- The samurai clan Jubei Todo is from may be named the Nabeshima clan, named after the Nabeshima Clan. This is based on a fragment of text that can be seen on Chise Todo's Committee for Commonwealth Defense personal file in the Crown Handler intro.
- Lord Horikawa calls Jubei Todo "Pathetic remnant of the Shogunate", implying he is one of the opposing figures who opposed Meiji Restoration and a staunch conservative.
- In the English dub of Princess Principal, Jubei Todo and his fellow assassins are not dubbed. When they speak, the original Japanese audio is used.
