Story[]
Episode 10 starts with a flashback that takes place at a spy training facility in the Commonwealth called The Farm. Here, a younger Ange is seen completing various training exercises, such as defusing a bomb. In this flashback, a female student nicknamed Prefect is introduced.
Back in the year that Season 1 takes place, Control is discussing Prefect among each other. They order Ange and Dorothy to meet with Prefect on-site and "determine how to proceed."
Dorothy informs Beatrice that they are going on a top secret operation to steal secret documents from the estate of the Lord of the Admiralty. The operation is to take place on Christmas Day. Ange informs her that they have an informant on the inside and not to worry.

Prefect transcribing letter
Meanwhile at the Lord of the Admiralty Residence, the Lord of the Admiralty is having a letter transcribed for him by Prefect. The Lord is discussing how Europe is changing, bringing alongside it an increase in military power. He says that if the Kingdom of Albion is to resist the navies of the other world powers, then it is best for the Albion channel fleet to be disbanded and to join it with the Atlantic fleet, thereby combining all of the Kingdom's forces into a new "Grand Fleet." The Lord and Prefect (referred to as Eleanor) then make idle chat about Christmas. He asks her if she has any plans, but she replies she does not. She says that she does not care much for the holiday, because it reminds her of a "old acquaintance", the woman that she always wished she could be.[[

Prefect grabs Beatrice from behind
Ange, Dorothy and Beatrice have since entered the residence, and sneak in through a prearranged unlocked window on the second story using Ange's C-Ball. They sneak around the building until Beatrice is grabbed from behind and a knife is put to her throat. It is revealed to be Prefect, wanted to make a point of Beatrice's weakness. She then lets go and the girls chat briefly before continuing on. They sneak through the building and steal a key to the Gamekeeper’s cabin, where the secret documents are being held in the cellar. In order to get to the Gamekeeper’s cabin they need to get past a pack of guard dogs. It is now revealed why Beatrice was brought on the mission, since she is able to use her voice box, she is able to create a high pitch whistle that subdues the dogs, much to Prefect’s bewilderment. Ange grapples down to the gate house and retrieves the documents.
The episode then cuts Princess Charlotte and Chise, who were absent from the mission. They are shown together at a Japanese garden showcase in London, where they are talking about Ange. Princess asks what a Shishi-odoshi is used for, but Chise herself then realises that even she does not know.

Prefect's drug injection device
Back to Ange, Dorothy, Beatrice and Prefect, they successfully completed their mission and escaped the estate of the First Lord of the Admiralty. They then went to a pub for drinks and to chat with Prefect. They discuss old times on The Farm and how Prefect was always second-best to Ange. Prefect goes the use the powder room, where she injects a drug into herself to calm herself. When she goes back to the table, only Dorothy remains having supposedly sent the “children home” and invites Prefect to drink with her.

Prefect and Dorothy drinking together
A cut to Ange and Beatrice show them entering Prefect's boarding house to complete their “real” mission which is to discover whether Prefect has become a double agent.
Dorothy and Prefect reminisce about an exam that they did back on The Farm which they almost failed. In a team of three, were tasked with trailing someone, but lost sight of their target. Prefect was worried about being expelled, but Dorothy said that since they had already failed they might as well enjoy themselves. She suggested they go to a funfair, since they are not let out of The Farm every day. While they were out at the funfair, Ange (who was also on their team) went and found their target, passing the exam for them. Prefect and Dorothy then get ready to leave. Outside, Prefect asks Dorothy whether she has ever wanted to be like someone else very badly. Dorothy responds that she does not, but Prefect says that she herself did.

Prefect finds footprints
Ange and Beatrice finished searched Prefect's boarding house and leave, Ange saying she found no evidence of treachery. Beatrice says that Ange must be glad that her friend is not a double agent, but Ange responds that Prefect is not her friend. It is then revealed that Prefect had set up a trap in her house: there was a special carpet which would leave footprints underneath if people walked on it. Ange actually realised this, but figured that if Prefect was hiding anything, that she would make a move and they could catch her that way. Prefect having departed from Dorothy arrives at her boarding house and sees the footprints. Thinking that she has been found out, she departs for a nearby train station to flee.
Briefcase firing
Ange, Dorothy and Beatrice plan to surround Prefect when she gets to the station. But before this can happen, Ange confronts Prefect in the streets at gunpoint and tells her to put down her gun and briefcase and put her hands in the air. Prefect comments on how Ange has changed while putting down the briefcase. However, the briefcase contains a hidden machine with a timer. The Machine gun briefcase goes off sending, Ange diving for cover allowing Prefect to escape. Dorothy gets upset with Ange over this, saying "Did you think you could beat Prefect all by yourself? Or were you trying to prove which one of you was really the better spy?"
Prefect meanwhile runs onto a train platform and hops onto a departing train. She bribes an onboard conductor who sees her to a vacant compartment. Hearing a knock on the compartments door, Prefect opens it expecting to see the conductor, but instead she is confronted with an armed Dorothy.

Chasing train
Dorothy and Ange had caught up by car and jumped aboard the train with the C-ball, leaving Beatrice to drive the car. Dorothy sits across from Prefect, gun drawn, and congratulates her on finally beating Ange earlier. Prefect sighs, "You just don't get it," she says, "The woman I looked up to was never Ange. The woman I always looked up to, the woman I so badly wanted to be like... but never could. It was you, Dorothy."

Funfair
Prefect then brings up the funfair and how it was the most fun she ever had. She says she still still dreams about it. She then grabs her gun, Dorothy pleading for her to stop, "I don't want to shoot a friend." Prefect thanks her for calling her her friend, and says she will give her a free pass. Prefect then says "goodbye" to Dorothy before shooting herself in the head, immediately killing herself.

Prefect suicide

“You will assassinate Princess”
After the mission Dorothy thanks Ange for jumping the gun earlier, to try and make sure Dorothy did not have to shoot Prefect. They drive to Control headquarters. At Control, they go to report their mission and it is revealed that L has been transferred and that they now will be taking orders from the General. The General tells them to move right onto their next assignment, namely to assassinate Princess Charlotte.
