Richard |
Richard, also known as the Duke of Arkham, is a character in Princess Principal. He made his first debut in Crown Handler Chapter 2 and is a part of the Royal Family of Albion.

History[]
Pre-Season 1[]
Sometime in the past, Richard left Albion and became a governor in the New World; on the orders of the Duke of Normandy. There, he recruited his own army, and later claimed to have conquered the New World with it.
Richard's last visit to Albion took place five years before the events of Crown Handler Chapter 2.
Crown Handler[]
Chapter 1[]
Richard himself makes no direct appearance in Crown Handler Chapter 1. However, his airship is seen arriving at one of the Queen's castles. Later on in the movie, Princess Charlotte goes through Winston's belongings and finds a speech draft that mentions the Duke of Arkham (Richard).
Chapter 2[]
Richard has made his official return to Albion. There, he gets shot by the same sniper that killed Winston, but the sniper "misses" and Richard survives the attack. Later on, crown prince Edward gets assassinated and Princess Charlotte and Princess Mary survive a failed assassination attempt. It is then revealed that Richard and the sniper are actually on the same team and are behind all recent assassination attempts. The assassination on Richard himself was a staged ploy to divert suspicion. Richard reveals this to Princess Charlotte in private. He tells her that he wants to become king of Albion and bring about major change in the country. The movie ends with Richard, now second-in-line to the throne next to Mary, asking if Charlotte would join him in his goals.
